Georg Kjøll graduated with a PhD from the CSMN and Department of Philosphy, Classics, History of Arts and Ideas in 2011. His thesis, Word meaning, concepts and the representation of abstract entities from the perspective of radical pragmatics and semantic externalism, was supervised by Professor Deirdre Wilson and Professor Jan Terje Faarlund, and examined by Professor Robyn Carston (UCL) and Professor Georges Rey (University of Maryland).
Georg currently works as an Editor at Store norske leksikon, a general knowledge encylopaedia based at the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. His research interests focus on pragmatics, philosophy of linguistics and philosophy of mind.
In addition, Georg works on the psychology and metaphysics of causality, and the philosophy of cognitive science. In 2013, he will publish a Norwegian language book on philosophy of language and mind through Fagbokforlaget.
