Andreas Stokke

Associate professor of Philosophy at Umeå University

Andreas Stokke (PhD, St Andrews, 2010) is currently associate professor of philosophy at Umeå University, Sweden.

Prior to this, Andreas was a postdoc at the LanCog center, University of Lisbon (2012) and a postdoc at CSMN (2010-2012).

He held the Analysis Trust Studentship (2009-2010) and was a visiting scholar at CSMN in 2009 and at New York University in 2008.

Andreas's work mainly focuses on philosophy of language and epistemology. He has worked extensively on indexicality, presuppositions, dynamic semantics, free indirect discourse, protagonist projection, and other topics in semantics and pragmatics.

In more recent years, Andreas has also published papers on lying, insincerity, and deception.
