Le connecteur consécutif: guide primordial? Étude contrastive de quelques marqueurs discursifs français et norvégiens
Astrid Nome
This study aims at identifying the role of some French and Norwegian
pragmatic connectives: the consecutives "donc", "alors", "da" and
"altså". Their function as procedural constraints on interpretation,
their facultative nature as well as their ability to appear both as
connectives and discourse markers will be discussed and illustrated by a
large empirical material (Oslo Multilingual Corpus). Besides giving a
contrastive analysis of these French and Norwegian counterparties in a
relevance-theoretic framework, I will also study the translator’s
choices when there is no exact correspondence between the discourse
markers in the two languages or when a different solution has been
chosen even if there exists a corresponding item in the target language.
