I am originally an Iron-Age archaeologist with research interests in houses and households, ritual, gender, theory and methods, cognitive and social archaeology. In my research I have focused on prehistoric architecture, using a specific category of archaeological evidence – the built environment – as a point of departure to deeper studies of power expressions and hierarchy, gender construction, ritual behaviour, food practices, and the relationship of the living to the dead.

In coming years I aim to extend my expertise by delving into long-term developments of Scandinavian prehistory.
