Born in Oslo, 1985. PhD in archaeology, 2015, with the dissertation Portals to the Past: An archaeology of doorways, dwellings, and ritual practice in Late Iron Age Scandinavia. I am originally an Iron-Age archaeologist with research interests in houses and households, ritual, gender, theory and methods, cognitive and social archaeology. In my research I have focused on prehistoric architecture, using a specific category of archaeological evidence – the built environment – as a point of departure to deeper studies of power expressions and hierarchy, gender construction, ritual behaviour, food practices, and the relationship of the living to the dead. In coming years I aim to extend my expertise by delving into long-term developments of Scandinavian prehistory.
