PhD Position in the Project ”Finding Old Sikyon” at Ephorate of Antiquities in Corinth/Danish Institute at Athens

The project “Finding Old Sikyon”, which is run in collaboration by the National Museum of Denmark and the Ephorate of Antiquities in Corinth and is funded by the Carlsberg Foundation, invites applications for a full-time PhD position from June 15, 2017 for 3 years. The position will be situated in Greece.

The candidate is expected to write a PhD in Classical Archaeology related to the project’s materials, subjects and aims and to take an active and responsible part in the project, its field campaigns, their preparation and the assessment of finds and results.

Applicants must have acquired (or need to acquire until April 30, 2017 at the latest) a Master’s degree in Classical Archaeology with above-average grades. They should have profound experience in field archaeology in the ancient world, including excavation. Excellent academic language skills in Greek and English are requisite, and preferably also good skills in one or more other European languages. Applicants should be good team players, ready to work in an international context and be highly motivated for versatile and innovative archaeological work.
