For new employees at IFIKK
Approximately one week before your appointment you will receive a letter welcoming you to the department. This letter covers topics such as office assignment, user account, telephone line and contact information for payroll and human resources.
Your contact in the department is administrative officer Ellen Evju Jahr, tax papers should be submitted to our finance officer, Solveig Johansen.
Access cards are issued by Kortsenteret, inside the Akademika bookstore at Blindern. The access card doubles as a library card at the University library. Office keys are handed out in the department reception office.
The department reception office and administrative staff are all located on the 2nd floor in Georg Morgenstiernes hus. In the department reception office you can leave outgoing mail, send faxes, pick up office supplies, etc.
The mail room is also on the 2nd floor in Georg Morgenstiernes hus. You will get a mailbox assigned with your colleagues sorted by discipline (philosophy, classics, etc). Mail is delivered and picked up twice a day, usually around 11am and again at 2pm.
We have common kitched areas on each floor, with free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and so on. There are also several conference rooms, which are available for booking directly on the Finnrom system.
