Art History
In the field of art history, questions related to modernism and modernity are key themes in the research on Edvard Munch and his contemporaries, as well as in a newly initiated research network devoted to Norwegian design and architecture in the period 1950-70. The project Understanding and Interpretation of Medieval Imagery aims to contribute to the development of the theory and methodology of medieval iconography. In addition, art historians at the Department are involved in the ongoing interdisciplinary project Archive in Motion
