Submitting examination essays at IFIKK

This procedure applies to all examination essays, home examination or semester assignment, submitted on paper at the general office.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for submitting a complete and correct document. The assignments and essays are assessed in the form in which they are submitted. Unreadable or incomplete documents will be graded as such.

To avoid suspicion of plagiarism, you must know how to cite, quote and refer to sources. This applies to both compulsory assignments and examination essays, and any exam or assignment may be subject to electronic plagiarism control.

Handing in your document

1. Download and print both the front page and the Obligatory Statement Concerning Cheating

2. Complete the front page with candidate number, course code, year and semester,  and if there has been multiple tasks to choose from include also number or title of the task you have chosen.

3. Complete and sign the obligatory statement concerning cheating.

4. Staple the front page to your submission. Please do not use paperclips, folders or the like.

5. Submit your essay in two complete copies at the department's general office within the deadline. The general office is located at the 3rd floor (3. etasje) of Georg Morgenstiernes hus.

Please note that you must submit your essay in hard copy and not electronically. Ensure that you submit your essay with both the front page completed and attached as described, and that you have completed and signed the obligatory statement concerning cheating. If you get someone else to submit your essay, ensure that all of this has been completed properly. It is especially important to sign the obligatory statement concerning cheating.

Cheating/attempted cheating

It is the responsibility of each student to familiarize themselves with the Faculty's information regarding cheating and plagiarism.

Violations of these regulations will be treated examination offence and the consequences may be annulment of the exam and/or nationwide exclusion from universities and colleges.

To avoid suspicion of plagiarism, every student must know how to cite, quote and refer to sources.

Please note that any exam or assignment will be subject to electronic plagiarism control.

Deferred deadline

If you need a deferred deadline, you must contact the department before the original deadline expires.
