Trial lectures for the two positions of Associate Professors in Philosophy

Seven candidates will, over a two-day period on June 18th and 19th 2015, hold their trial lectures for the two position of Associate Professors in Philosophy.

Each of the candidates will give a 45 minute lecture on the following topic:

You are teaching an introduction to philosophy for first-year undergraduates and have come to the session covering Descartes. Your task is to explain and assess his "cogito" argument and its role in the larger philosophical project of his Meditations.

The lectures take place in room 4 in Georg Sverdrup’s House and are open for all who wish to attend.

Thursday June 18th
