For tiden leder han prosjektet «New Signs of Antiquity: The Uses of Latin in the Public Culture of Fascist Italy» som er finansiert av det Norske forskningsrådet.

Lamers har vært gjesteredaktør for European Review of History (2014), International Journal of the Classical Tradition (2018) og History of the Humanitites (2020) og sitter i redaksjonskomitéen for International Journal of the Classical Tradition. Journalens første utgivelse utkom i juni 2019.
