Academic interests

My disciplinary background is Arabic and Middle East studies with a master's degree from the University of Oslo (2015) on Palestinian hacktivism and the digitization of the Palestinian resistance. My main academic interests are Palestinian armed and non-violent resistance, Palestinian state-building and the Internet's influence in the Middle East. My PhD project (supervised by Dag Henrik Tuastad and Brynjar Lia) examines the development of the role and presence of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in the Palestinian resistance by focusing on the ideology and methods of the movement. I study the history and development of the movement to see how it has changed and adapted to the surrounding circumstances within and outside of the Palestinian Territories.
