Goal
The Centre for Islamic and Middle East Studies seeks to promote understanding of political and cultural developments within the contemporary Middle East and North Africa, as well as the development of Islam from a broad perspective.
Collaborate with us
The Centre for Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies wishes to be a meeting point for research, both within Norway and internationally.
We have a particular wish to stimulate collaborations between researchers at UiO and elsewhere in the region around Oslo, between researchers in the Nordic region, and between Norwegian researchers and their colleagues in the Middle East.
Thematically organised research
The Centre was opened at the 14th of June 2011. It is a thematically organised Centre situated at the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages.
