How to obtain a supervisor for your master's thesis

Whatever programme or programme option you are enrolled in at IKOS, you are either obliged or strongly recommended to take the project description course which is built into your study programme (one of the following):

• EAL4010 - East Asian Linguistics and EAL4020 - Topics in the History of East Asian Languages
• EAST4510 - Approaches to East Asian Culture and History
• JAP4010 - Designing a Master's Project on Modern Japan
• KIN4510 - Approaches to the Study of Chinese Society and Politics. Theories and Methodologies
• KOS4000 - Prosjektbeskrivelse for asiatiske og afrikanske studier
• KULH4000 - Introduksjon til masteroppgaven i kulturhistorie – prosjektbeskrivelsen
• MUSE4000 - Introduksjon til masteroppgaven i museologi
• REL4000 - Prosjektbeskrivelse - religionshistorie

Once you have successfully completed the project description course you will be assigned a supervisor. You will receive a supervision contract during the following semester (before either 1 September or 1 February respectively). You must complete and sign the contract, which must be returned to your student advisor within two weeks.
