Paul Rollier is Associate Professor II in the South Asia section at IKOS, and Assistant Professor in South Asian Studies at the University of St Gallen, (Switzerland).
Trained in social anthropology and languages (Hindu and Urdu), his research is located at the intersection of the study of religion, politics, law, and the everyday in South Asia. After completing his PhD (SOAS), he undertook post-doctoral research at the University College London, as part of an ESRC/ERC-funded project <http://www.ucl.ac.uk/democratic-cultures> investigating the nexus between politics and crime across South Asia. He is currently working on a book manuscript that explores how religious difference and belonging are discussed and contested in the Pakistani city of Lahore.
