Research

I defended my ph.d. dissertation in 2013: A grammar of Engdewu. An Oceanic language of the Solomon Islands. It is a grammatical description of the endangered Reefs-Santa Cruz language Engdewu (Oceanic), spoken on Santa Cruz (Nedö) Island, Temotu Province, Solomon Islands.

Supervisors: Prof. Rolf Theil and Dr. Åshild Næss.

Research assistant

  • En elektronisk database over norske språklyder, a project aiming at an instrumental (primarily EPG and EMA) phonetic description of Norwegian speech sounds. Led by Inger Moen og Hanne Gram Simonsen (University of Oslo, 2004 and 2008).

Master degree

Some aspects of referent mention and discourse organisation in Äiwoo, a descriptive study of aspects of the information structure system of the Reefs-Santa Cruz language Äiwoo (Oceanic). Supervisors were Åshild Næss og Even Hovdhaugen. The thesis was a part of the interdisciplinary project Identity Matters, a collaboration between Etnografisk seksjon at Kulturhistorisk museum/UiO,Kon-Tiki Museet and the former Department of Lingusitics at UiO.
