Norkog is the first Norwegian association for cognitive linguistics. Our aim is to gather linguists with an interest in cognitive linguistics and bonds to Norway or Norwegian, and to promote contact and cooperation between them.

About the group

Norkog is a meeting place for those interested in cognitive linguistics. We welcome members with different academic affiliations; not only linguists. Since one of the strengths of cognitive linguistics is its interdisciplinary approach, we want this to be reflected in our organization as well. Norkog was founded on the summer seminar in cognitive linguistics spring 2008, and was affiliated with the ICLA in 2011.

Membership is free and non-committal. All members are automatically subscribers to the Norkog mailing list. To become a member, contact Nina Gram Garmann.

Our web pages

The aim of our web pages is to inform about what happens in cognitive linguistics in Norway, as well as other relevant activities. Please help us keeping the webpage updated!

Norkog arranges a biannual summer conference. The next conference will be arranged in June 2016. We also promote terminology building in Norwegian. More information on the 2012 conference here
