The aim of this workshop is to bring together insights from the academic study of language, rhetoric, society, mind and brain to get a clearer understanding of problems relating to argumentation and advocacy, persuasion and polarisation. With neuroscientist Kris De Meyer (King's College London). Organizer: Tina Skouen

Have you ever been convinced of something, beyond all doubt? Many people have a strong sense that their views are right and couldn’t possibly be wrong. So how do we come to hold an unshakable conviction and why is it hard to consider that we could be mistaken? A film about the neuroscience and psychology of how people form convictions. Public screening - all are welcome!

Documentary directed by Sheila Marshall, produced by Kris De Meyer. Distributed by Java Films. The film will be introduced by Kris De Meyer and is followed by an open Q&A.
