Academic interests

Overall research interests include media innovation, media economics and digitalization. More concretely, this takes the form of projects on streaming media services, ebooks, apps, algorithms etc., in particular within the culture industries. Also interested in freedom of expression, literature, photography.

Current project is "STREAM: Streaming the culture industries: Analyzing the technology, usage and economy of streaming media services". Here, I examine business models and value networks in streaming services such as Spotify, Netflix and Storytel.

Background

Masters degree in media and communication from University of Oslo, 2005. Employed as editor at BI Norwegian Business School, 2006-2011. Ph.D.-fellow University of Oslo, 2011-2015. Researcher at University of Oslo and independent researcher, 2015-2017. Employed as advisor in Norwegian Association of Researchers, Jan-Jun 2017. Postdoctoral research fellow at University of Oslo from Aug. 2017.

Previously editorial assistant and member of editorial team at Norsk medietidsskrift (Norwegian Journal of Media Studies).
