Innovations and Digital News: Recipes for Success?

Public lecture by Dr. Lucy Küng, professor II at the Department of Media and Communication. The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion.

Dr. Küng’s lecture “Innovations and Digital News: Recipes for Success?” will foreground some of the most important lessons for successfully tapping new digital markets, as gleaned from both research and interviews with executive leadership of The Guardian, The New York Times, BuzzFeed and Vice.

Dr. Lucy Küng is professor II at the Department of Media and Communication, UiO. She advises leading companies and organisations in the areas of strategy and organisational development, focusing on innovative business models. She is author of many publications, including her recent book, Innovators in Digital News.

Responses and commentary oriented towards the Norwegian context will then be offered by

- Pål Nedregotten, CIO of Amedia (Norway’s second largest media corporation),

- Sindre Østgaard, CEO of Tinius Foundation (largest owner of Schibsted, Norway’s largest media corporation)

There will also be a informal reception after the event. There is no fee for participating, but registration is required.
