Dr.Lucy Küng is visiting CeRMI next week
Professor II at the department of Media and Communications, Dr. Lucy Küng, will be visiting CeRMI for a couple of days this fall. In relations to this visit, CeRMI is pleased to announce a public lecture followed by a panel discussion with Dr. Lucy Küng.

Dr. Küng is professor in Media Management at Jönkjöping International Business School, Visiting Fellow at Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism and adjunct faculty member at the University of St. Gallen. As consultant to some of the most prominent media corporations, Dr. Küng gets first-hand exposure to the challenges created by ever accelerating technological cycles, and to best and worst case examples of innovation and strategic renewal, allow her to bring clarity and set priorities in challenging strategic environments.
In her new book, “Innovators in Digital News”, she identifies and discusses the common elements that underlie organisations’ success with digital news. How do they operate? How do they innovate? What strategies have they adopted and why? Which structures, skills and attitudes are necessary to make digital journalism succeed? How are they financing their operations?
Public lecture and panel discussion
Dr. Küng’s lecture, will foreground some of the most important lessons for successfully tapping new digital markets, as gleaned from both research and interviews with executive leadership of The Guardian, The New York Times, BuzzFeed and Vice. Responses and commentary oriented towards the Norwegian context will then be offered by

Sindre Østgaard: CEO of Tinius Foundation, largest owner of Schibsted, Norway’s largest media corporation.
Anders Akre: digital developer at Harvest.as, a new online news site.
The lecture will be held at the Forum in Forskningsparken / Oslo Science Park, Tuesday, November 17, 14.15-16.00.
