CeRMI represented at New York conference

Dr. Arne H. Krumsvik and Dr. Aske Kammer, both CeRMI members, will be attending the panel “Best practices of innovation policies in the news media industry” during the World Media Economics and Management Conference 2016.

This year’s World Media Economics and Management Conference will have the theme Global Media & Local Entrepreneurs. It will take place in New York, USA from May 2-6, 2016.  It is a biennial conference where the global community of media business scholars is brought together to reflect on contemporary issues in the economics and management of media industries and firms.

Dr. Arne H. Krumsvik is professor at the Department of Journalism and Media Studies at Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences, and a member of CeRMI. Dr. Aske Kammer is an Assistant Professor at the Centre of Journalism at the University of Southern Denmark. In April 2015, Dr. Kammer was the first visiting scholar to join CeRMI’s Visitors Program. They will join the panel with leading academic experts within the field of media economics, Robert G. Picard and Alan Albarran.

The panel will be discussing media innovations in Europe, USA, Brazil and China, and will be led by Dr. Hans van Kranenburg from Radboud University. He is the editor of the anthology Innovation Policies in the European News and Media Industry: A Comparative Study, and both Dr. Krumsvik and Dr. Kammer are contributors to the book. It will be available at Springer this fall.
