Research topic: Political communication

Political communication is the exchange of information, interpretation, debate and use of symbols which intends to promote certain values and interests, and to influence political decisions.

Politicians, parties and journalists have central and visible roles in such processes, but there is also a number of other players seeking political influence, among them companies and industries, interest groups, NGOs, individuals or groups.

Studies of political communication address conflicts and interactions between actors, how political information is conveyed and what consequences this may have on formation of public opinion in a society and on political decisions.
