Doctoral degree and PhD
All PhD students at the Department of Musicology (IMV) must either be registered as a PhD candidate in the PhD programme at the Faculty of Humanities or present themselves as a candidate for the open dr. philos. degree.
The faculty offers one PhD programme in the humanities, which is organised into seven lines of study.
Musicology is part of the line of study for musicology and theatre studies, aesthetics, history of art and ideas.
How to apply for admission to the line and the PhD programme at the Faculty of Humanities.
The line of study has a committee, with a head of line, who has the day-to-day responsibility for the academic content of the PhD programme. The chair of the committee also acts as ombudsman for the doctoral students. Teaching is organised by the committee in close collaboration with the academic units in the Faculty.
