Stan Hawkins to edit Research Companion to Popular Music & Gender

Professor Hawkins compiling pathbreaking research from leading international scholars.

Project leader, professor Stan Hawkins, has recently received a contract from Ashgate Publishing (UK/USA) to edit a new volume of essays. This will comprise pathbreaking research by top scholars from all over the world working in the broader fields of popular music and gender. The volume, consisting of 200, 000 words, will also comprise a section on popular music and gender in a transcultural context, directly related to the major findings of this project. This will encompass 4-6 pathbreaking essays by researchers closely aligned to the project. The due date for publication is 2016. This volume forms a logical sequel to Derek Scott’s The Ashgate Research Companion to Popular Musicology, published in 2009, information on which can be found here: http://www.ashgate.com/isbn/9780754664765
