The steps and committees of the hiring process

  1. Selection committee - selects applicants for further assessment by the expert committee. Available to applicants, but not open to public viewing.
  2. Expert committee - assesses applicants academic qualifications. Available to applicants, but not open to public viewing
  3. Interview committee - final assessment of the applicants, based on the report of the expert committee, the trial lecture, interviews and referee interviews. The recommendation is neither open to applicants nor to public viewing
  4. The Department Board - recommendation of at least three competent applicants in ranked order. Neither open to applicants nor to public viewing
  5. The Appointment Committee of the Faculty Board - passes the final decision in the hiring process
