New MultiLing affiliate: Ingvild Nistov
A warm welcome to our new MultiLing affiliate, Ingvild Nistov!
Nistov is an Associate Professor at The University of Bergen, Department of Linguistic, Literary and Aesthetic Studies.
Her research interests include second language acquisition and second language teaching (Norwegian as L2), language contact and linguistic practices among youth in multilingual urban settings.
Nistov holds a PhD in Norwegian as a second language (2001) from The University of Oslo, with a dissertation on referential management in L2 narratives by Turkish adolescent learners. She is one of the coordinators of the research group “Conditions and strategies for developing language competences” (Strategier for språkkompetanse) at The University of Bergen, and she is co-editor of the journal Nordand (Nordiske språk som andrespråk).
Currently she is coordinating a project (“Grammar in L2 teaching”), which draws on insights from usage-based linguistics and focuses on enhancing implicit learning. Another ongoing project addresses linguistic practices among adolescents in multilingual settings in Bergen.
