The library contains around 25,000 academic books and journals and is a principal hub for the research activities, studies, and knowledge exchange that take place at the institute.

Together with the photographic archive collection, the library makes a unique resource for exploring the art history of late antiquity, classical archaeology, and Byzantine art in Italy and the Mediterranean basin.

They are unique resources for research and specialists and fill a vital role at the Institute and in the day-to-day scholarship, research, and dissemination of knowledge of the Mediterranean countries' Cultural Heritage, Art History and Archaeology.

Researchers and students at the Institute can access collections and digital resources from all the major research libraries in Italy. Please get in touch with librarian Manuela Michelloni by e-mail for access.

Librarian Manuela Michelloni is a subject specialist in the main themes of the Institute library and can assist students and researchers in using the library and archive.
