Cultural Heritage, a Tool in Conflict and a Victim of War
3 - 4 May 2018 at the Norwegian Institute in Rome and at La Sapienza Rome University.

The workshop will discuss cultural heritage as a resource of domination and resistance, and the associated looting and trade.
The issues will be explored through two sub-sessions:
1. The use and distruction of archaeological heritage in conflict
2. Looting, export, smuggling and trade of objects from conflict areas to markets and collectors
