Religion and Politics (RelPol) is a multi-disciplinary research initiative with participants from across the department, including Religious Studies, Culture Studies and Middle East and Asia Area Studies.
Mobile Muslims and Invisible Islam (MMII) studies how Islam takes shape in Europe. The focus is on those Muslim voices that tend to escape public attention.
Many appealing stories have their roots in folklore, but are constantly adapted to current situations, political and environmental concerns and interests.
This project examines how transgressions give shape, direction and speed to South Asia’s vibrant societal dynamics, paying particular attention to the conditions behind their acceleration during the past 25-30 years.
