Election of the Dean at HF

Election to the office of Dean of the Faculty of Humanities was held from 24th – 28th of October. The deadline for nominating candidates was Monday, October 10 at 12:00.

Election 2022

At the end of the postponed deadline, a nomination had been received for incumbent Dean Frode Helland. In accordance with section 26, second paragraph, of the Election Regulations for the University of Oslo, the Faculty Board therefore makes the choice.  At the  Faculty Board meeting on 4.11.2022, Frode Helland was re-elected dean.

Election Result 2018

Frode Helland was elected to the office of Dean of the Faculty of Humanities 2019-2022.

Helland won with 66,75 % of the weighted votes.

Attendance and participation

901 ballotts were casted, of which 22 blanks. The support for Helland is a large majority among academic staff and students, whereas the ballotts from the technical-administrative staff is evenly distributed between the candidates.

62,38 % of the academic staff voted, 73,68 % of the technical-administrative staff and 5,59 % of the students.

Complaints

Any complaints must be sent to the Election Board within 14 November.

Within the deadline for nominating candidates, 1 October 2018 at 14:00, the election board received 2 nominations:

  • Professor Arne Bugge Amundsen
  • Professor Frode Helland

On 18. October there was a debate between the candidates, at 14.15-16.00, aud. 7 Eilert Sundts building.

The faculty’s election board is responsible for implementation of the election. The election board is also functioning as election commitee.
