EST Travel Grants Application Open! Deadline January 31, 2022

The EST Board has decided to award 20 Travel Grants, at EUR 500 each, to make it possible for early-stage TIS researchers to attend the EST Congress in Oslo from 22-24 June 2022.

The EST Board has decided to award 20 Travel Grants, at EUR 500 each, to make it possible for early-stage TIS researchers to attend the EST Congress in Oslo from 22-24 June 2022. Grants can be used to cover Congress-related expenses for travel, accommodations and fee. An ad hoc committee chaired by the EST President will select recipients of the grants on the basis of the following criteria:

  • On 1 January 2022, you are a PhD student or recent postdoc (meaning that you obtained your PhD degree in 2018 or later) based somewhere outside the Nordic countries. This has to be confirmed with an official, stamped document from your university at the time of the travel grant application (in the case of a PhD student) or the date of graduation and a description of your employment situation since then (in the case of a postdoc or a non-affiliated researcher).
  • Your abstract for the EST 2022 Congress has been accepted.
  • You are a paid-up member of EST for 2022.
  • Travel from all countries worldwide are eligible for funding, with the exception of travel within the Nordic countries.

Additional assessment criteria used by the committee:

  • quality of proposal
  • quality of motivation
  • applicant’s potential
  • applicant’s benefit from attending the conference
