We address foundational issues in the philosophy of mathematics and the application of mathematical tools in other disciplines.
Applications and methodology
We aim to investigate some of the foundational issues that form the baseline for further scientific development. These issues include:
- core mathematical concepts and representations
- objectivity in mathematics, especially in higher set theory,
- the nature of mathematical structures,
- the notions of proposition, property, and higher-order logic.
Communicating mathematical models and methods
Mathematical representations and reasoning are widely applied in contemporary science, and increasingly also in the humanities.
The centrality of mathematical modelling and computational methods provide challenges and possibilities for communicating knowledge, estimating risks, dealing with scientific uncertainty, and judging the relevance of evidence.
We provide a platform for connecting and integrating different mathematical models.
