The Oslo School of Environmental Humanities (OSEH) aims to stimulate experimental environmental research that asks innovative questions and seeks dialogue and collaboration across disciplinary divides, and beyond academia. OSEH supports scholars in the humanities to form collaboratories - interdisciplinary research groups to foster new research projects. These collaboratories should help to strengthen the role of the environmental humanities in initiating research on climate change and the environment, and to support scholars from the humanities who seek collaboration with scholars from other disciplines than their own.

Each collaboratory may apply for up to 75 000 NOK per year, for up to 2 years. Funds may be spent, for instance, on workshops and seminars, invitation of visiting scholars, or research assistance. Applications can be submitted twice a year, in 2019 on 7 June and 1 October, and in 2020 on 1 March and 1 October. Applications will be evaluated by a committee set up by the director of OSEH.

OSEH also supports smaller initiatives with the aim of strengthening the community of environmental humanities scholars at UiO. Applications for these initiatives can be submitted at any time.
