My Ph.D project is a cultural history of legal controversies in French intellectual property law in the period 1890s to 1950s. I study composers and playwrights’ organizations (the SACEM and the SACD) in decades when technology changed the premise for performing music and theatre, creating a momentum for performers to claim authorship and legal ownership through the Union for French performers.
I am part of the ERC-funded project CREATIVE IPR led by PI Véronique Pouillard. I will be at Harvard University as a visiting fellow until the end of May 2023.
