Israel, Iran and the United States were in covert alignment through large parts of the Cold War. My Ph.D. project looks into the development of this alignment during the presidency of Lyndon B. Johnson (1963-1969). The aim is to provide new knowledge of this understudied alignment between the three states, and identify and explore both intra-alliance dynamics, and domestic politics in the US regarding the trilateral relationship.
