Sokratisk aften: Bodies in Time (Learning from Art)
Foredragsholder: Ingvild Torsen, førsteamanuensis i filosofi ved IFIKK
Tittel: Bodies in Time (Learning from Art)
"What does it mean to be a body? And what does it mean to be historical? In this talk I bring together two central questions in the phenomenology of selfhood and show how artworks, in this case sculpture, can help us make these big questions manageable and more concrete and also suggest new answers.
Questions for discussion: Is there a bodily self beyond reflection? Can art express insights that philosophy cannot? And is there a core body schema that is not historical?"
