Trial lecture: University lecturer in Persian language

Samad Alavi will hold a trial lecture for the position of University lecturer in Persian Language. Open for all.

The task is as follows:

For your trial teaching session, the assignment will be to give a 45 minute class to a group of complete beginners starting their B.A. in Persian language. There will be approx. 10-15 students present, in addition to a few staff.  We provide you with the following guidelines, but beyond these it is up to you how you structure and conduct the class:

1) The students are total beginners. The teacher must not assume any prior knowledge of Persian, and the students will not prepare anything beforehand.

2) This is a practical language class. Make sure you clearly demonstrate your pedagogical approach, particularly your methods for getting the students to practice and produce Persian language.

3) The goal of the class should be to have the students internalize a few of the most frequent basic sentence patterns.
