Research topic: Religion and Politics
Religion and politics have been closely linked in most pre-modern societies. A central feature of the modern era is that politics is placed in a separate sphere in which religion no longer has an important role.
The relationship between religion and politics is nevertheless not clarified in our time. Some researchers maintain that religious organizations and actors play an important role in modern politics in a number of contexts. The importance of religion in both the private and public spheres has increased due to immigration to the Western world after the Second World War, and the debate on the proper place of religion in society receives great attention in the media.
