Workshop 3: Purpose
Image: Merja Polvinen
What are the roles and functions for literature that arise from a cognitive perspective? In this workshop, we discuss the relevance of cognitive approaches to literature in relation to the larger reading public. We investigate how cognitive literary studies provide new perspectives on reader engagement, on education, on life in the digital age and on issues of mental health (as exemplified by recent moves toward bibliotherapy).
