Eiri Elvestad is professor in Media Sociology and Head of the Department of Media and Communication. She has previously been working at the Department of Sociology and Political Science at NTNU in Trondheim (Norway) and at the University of South-Eastern Norway. In 2014-15 she was a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley, US. Elvestad has written 3 books, some book chapters and several articles in Norwegian and international peer-review journals. Her latest book Misunderstanding News Audiences. Seven Myths of the Social Media Era, (Routledge, 2018), with co-author Angela Phillips, Goldsmiths University, London.
