In 2019, the European Commission provided funding for four new international projects that would investigate the impact of technological transformations for children and youth. Delegates from these projects will meet in Oslo in May 2022 to share insights and discuss new research opportunities and challenges.

Three of the projects investigate different aspects of children's digital lives, while the fourth coordinates and supports the development of research in this field. These are:

DigiGen will research the impact of the digital transformation on children and youth.

Digimatex aims to provide clear evidence on how digital maturity impacts Information and communication technologies (ICT) behaviour of children at the ages of 9–16.

ySKILLS aims to enhance and maximise long-term positive impact of the ICT environment on multiple aspects of wellbeing for all children by stimulating resilience through the enhancement of digital skills.

CO:RE 'Children Online: Research and Evidence': The CO:RE projects will develop an online knowledge base on children and youth in the digital age for researchers, students and policy makers.

At the meeting, delegates will provide an overview of each project and discuss research and methodological insights developed.

The meeting will take place at the Professorboligen in Oslo on Wednesday and Thursday. Project meetings will be held on Friday at Professorboligen, OsloMet and UiO. For the precise location of the Professorboligen, please see the map above.

Costs related to location and food will be covered by the local team, with support from the CO:RE and DigiGen projects during the working days. Travel and accommodation costs will be covered by individual participants and projects.
