Professor Gunnar Liestøl at the Department of Media and Communication at the University of Oslo has together with 12 students developed an app that reconstructs the events that took place at Omaha Beach just before and after H–Hour (06:30 AM) in the morning of June 6 1944.

The augmented reality technology combines data from the physical world with digital information, such as 3D animation and sound. The app is published on the publishing platform Situated Simulations (SitSim), developed by Liestøl together with Tomas Stenarson in CodeGrind AB and Šarūnas Ledas in Tag of Joy.
