Innovation, Diversity and the Digital Turn is the first public seminar hosted by the research project Digitization and Diversity: Potentials and Challenges for Diversity in the Culture and Media Sector (DnD) and BI Centre for Creative Industries (BI:CCI). The project is a collaboration between the Norwegian Business School (BI), the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), the National Library of Norway, and the University of Copenhagen, and is financed by the Research Council of Norway. DnD's overarching research question is How does digitization influence the diversity dimensions in the culture and media sector? Through Dr. Nishant Shah's keynote presentation, this seminar highlights how the contemporary momentum of digitization influences innovation and diversity in industries, policy making and society, while CEO Liudmyla Buimister's keynote offers a perspective from the Ukrainian film market on the topic.
Philosophers often suggest that the fact that we are morally responsible is an important mark of our distinctive humanity. But people are responsible for much more than the moral qualities of their actions. Artists, for example, are typically aesthetically responsible for the qualities of their artistic creations. The talk will discuss similarities and differences between aesthetic and moral responsibility and speculate on what a consideration of aesthetic responsibility tells us about both responsibility and humanity.
