Anne Danielsen

Anne Danielsen Project leader, responsible for research area "Concerts" Anne Danielsen is Professor in Popular Music Studies in the Department of Musicology, University of Oslo. She is chair of the project and responsible for the subproject entitled ‘Live in the era of digital mediation’. She has published widely on groove and music production and is the author of Presence and Pleasure: The Funk Grooves of James Brown and Parliament and editor of Musical Rhythm in the Age of Digital Reproduction.


Arnt Maasø

Project leader, Responsible for research area "Clouds"

Arnt Maasø is Associate Professor of Media Studies at the Department of Media and Communication, University of Oslo. He heads the study of music streaming within the Clouds & Concerts project in collaboration with WiMP Music and Telenor. His research interests include music and sound in film and television, social media, media technology and communication theory (see department website at the University)


Yngvar Kjus


PhD in Media Studies from the Department of Media and Communication, University of Oslo, with the thesis Event media (2009). Since then he has worked in the analytics unit at the Norwegian broadcaster NRK, Adviser in The Norwegian Media Authority (2009-2010), and Senior adviser in the Research and Development section of Arts Council Norway (2010-2012).


Anja Nylund Hagen

PhD Candidate

Anja Nylund Hagen holds an MA in Media Studies, with a thesis on live pop-/rock concerts. From 2007-2011 she worked in the press department at NRK as event coordinator for several music festivals and as Head of Press for the Eurovision Song Contest. She has arranged several concerts for the booking group Redyellowcab, been part of the Demo Committee for by:Larm, and is a member of the board of Musikkfest, Oslo.



Marika Lüders

Lüders works as a research scientist at Department for Networked Systems and Services at SINTEF, with projects related to user experience and design of services. She has experience from a number of research projects funded by the EU and the Norwegian Research Council, and she is the project leader of NETworked Power: innovation through social software and ACTIVE ageing. Lüders has a PhD from Department of media and communication, UoO (2007), and has several publications in international and national journals and anthologies.


Ola Løvholm

 Research assistant

Ola Løvholm is Research Assistant on the Clouds and Concerts project. He has a BSc in Digital Media from the University of Oslo and an MSc by Research in Digital Media and Culture from the University of Edinburgh. His interests of research lies in the intersection between emerging digital technology and its use. When not working on Clouds and Concerts Ola works on web-development, programming, prototyping and experimentation.


Xin Jian (2013)

Xin Jian is Business Analyst at WiMP Music, as well as Research Assistant on Clouds and Concerts Project. She had her BSc in Economics in China, and her MSc in Economics at BI Norwegian Business School. With background in statistics, She enjoys working with database and data analytics, and is especially interested in more exposure to programming and applied statistics.



Wenche Nag (2013)

Nag is a project director and research scientist at Telenor Resarch & Future Studies. She has studied the converging field of media, Internet and mobile communication since 1996, and conducted fieldstudies in Scandinavia and Asia. She holds a Master's degree in Media and Communication studies and her main focus area is analysis of mobile media usage.



Kenth Engø-Monsen (2010-2011)

Kenth Engø-Monsen, PhD, Senior Research Scientist in the Telenor Group, is heading the research initiative on Customer Data Analytics in Telenor Research and Future Studies. His interests are in social network analysis, network economics and analytics. He has a 10+ year experience from research functions in the Telenor Group, and has a PhD in Computer Science from University of Bergen, Norway (2000).



Johannes Bjelland (2010-2013)

Works as Research Scientist. Competition and Data Analytics group at Research And Future Studies, Telenor ASA Msc Physics. Johannes has been working at Telenor since 2007. Current Research Fields: Data mining, predictive analytics, social network analysis, marketing optimization, telecom data analysis, churn propensity scoring




Pål Sundsøy (2010-2013)

Pål Sundsøy is working as a Research Scientist within Advanced Analytics at the Telenor Group, Research & Future Studies. Sundsøys work is aimed at Predictive analysis, Data Mining and research on large-scale social network analysis based on mobile communication data. Prior to Telenor Group, he was working for the European Space Agency. He is holding a Msc in Physics and Mathematics from NTNU, Norway, and UNSW, Australia.



Beathe Due (2010-2013)

Due is dean at Østfold University College. She holds a PhD in Media and Communication studies and her main focus area is analysis of mobile media usage.





Ragnhild Toldnes (2012-2013)

Master student 

After completing my Bachelor in Media Studies at the Institute for Media and Communication in 2010, I continued on with Master studies. Music is a huge interest, and I'm an enthusiastic concert and festival participant. For several years I have volunteered and worked for Øyafestivalen and Roskilde Festival.


Inger Helseth (2012-2013)

Master student  

Inger Helseth completed her Bachelor's degree in Musicology at the University of Oslo in Spring 2010, and in Fall 2011 she started the Master's program at the Institute of Musicology. Between her Bachelor ́s degree and her Master ́s studies, Inger spent a year with a further educational programme in conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Music. Inger also works as a choir conductor, and is a permanent member of the prestigious chamber choir Schola Cantorum.


Helena Zarifa Pedersen (2012-2013)

Master student 

Pedersen holds a Bachelor of Science: digital media at the Department of Informatics, 2011. She is now studying Master in Informatics: design, use and interaction at the same department. Previously, she studied graphic design at Norges Kreative Fagskole in Bergen and Oslo.



Ada Sandnes (2012-2013)

Master student

Sandnes has a bachelor’s degree in Media Studies from the University of Oslo, and started the Master’s program at the Department of Media and Communication in fall 2011. In addition to her studies, she works at NRK and Radio Nova.



Henrik Sanner Kristensen (2013-2014)

Master student 

Kristensen has a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies from the University of Oslo, and started the Master’s program at the Department of Media and Communication in the fall of 2012. He is writing his master's thesis on the every day use of playlists in the music streaming services Spotify and WiMP. In addition to his studies, he works at Platekompaniet and as journalist at Radio Nova.


Magnus Indregard (2013-2014)

Master student 

Indregard has a bachelor's degree in Media Studies from the University of Oslo. Since 2004 he has been working with content management, analysis and development of renowned webpages as and Ingregard is currently writing his master thesis about mobile usage on concerts and festivals.



Gro Kirkeby (2013-2014)

Research Assistant 

Kirkeby received her Master's degree in Media Studies from the University of Oslo, which focused on PR and propaganda, primarily through humanitarian organizations roles in political debate in the media. Previoulsy she has worked as an analyst in the Swedish analysis bureau Mediapilot. In addition, she has experience as a journalist, from one of the largest travel magazines in Norway, Magasinet Reiselyst, and the newspaper Adresseavisen.


Frederik Holm Højvang Rasmussen (2015-2016)

Research Assistant 

Rasmussen holds a bachelor’s degree in Media Studies from the University of Oslo, and started his master’s in Media Studies in the fall 2015. During his bachelor’s he did an internship at NRK’s analytics department, and during his master’s he has worked as a guest lecturer and a teaching assistant.
