Anja Nylund Hagen
As a PhD-candidate for the project Clouds & Concerts, I continue my academic career in the field between Media Science and Musicology. I will investigate how audiences relate to music in contemporary music cultures. Music streaming services and digital music platforms make the access of music easily available on a great scale, and I am curious about how this affect on the audiences’ user patterns. How do users navigate the vast numbers of tracks? How do they find new music and choose their music preferences, and how does the situation affect on the actual listening of music? In addition to this I would like to investigate how the integration of music streaming services with social media sites affects how we talk about music.
Anja Nylund Hagen is PhD candidate on the project. She holds an MA in Media Studies, with a thesis on live pop-/rock concerts. From 2007-2011 she worked in the press department at NRK as event coordinator for several music festivals and as Head of Press for the Eurovision Song Contest. She has arranged several concerts for the booking group Redyellowcab, been part of the Demo Committee for by:Larm, and is a member of the board of Musikkfest, Oslo.
