Gjesteforelesning med professor Mark J. Butler (12.10)

I forbindelse med seminaret "Rhythm, sound and technology in computer-based, groove-oriented\ music", vil professor Mark J. Butler fra Department of Music, University of Pennsylvania holde en\ åpen gjesteforelesning kalt Interpretive Multiplicity and the Shaping of Time in Electronic\ Dance Music.

Tid: Torsdag 12. oktober kl 14.15 - 16.00

Sted: Salen på ZEB

Forelesningen holdes i regi av prosjektet "Rhythm in the Age of Digital Reproduction"

The rhythmic and metrical qualities of electronic dance music highlight the experiential\ possibilities afforded by its temporal phenomena. Within this repertory, sites of interpretive\ multiplicity involve listeners in a dynamic that promotes active participation in the shaping of\ one's musical experiences. Through an exploration of ambiguity in particular, I show how\ electronic dance music supports experiences of time that are both rich and diverse.
