The IT/AV board decided to change the name to IMV Infrastructure Committee

Library takes over management of some AV-equipment

The library has offered to take over and manage some the older AV-equipment that works and can be put to use and made available for all UiO employees and alignes well with infrastructure applications the library is working on. The infrastructure committee supports this.

NRC assessment of the INFRASTRUCTURE program

The fourMs lab was interviewed by the committee evaluating the INFRASTRUCTURE program, and was a good chance to voice the needs of profoundly interdisciplinary research and infrastructures for humanities/social sciences.

UiOs infrastructure call 2020/2021

  • Alexander gave a brief summary of the FOMUL and VAVU applications that will be submitted to the deadline 25 September

  • Deadline for final budgets moved back to 2 November

    • Alexander gave a brief description of the application, which is progressing as planned
    • Stefano gave an update on the work on the application, which might not be as feasible as originally thought

Status budget 2020 and discussion of budget request 2021

    • Status for purchase of monitor for the mixing suite

    • fourMs lab already has a list of priorities
    • Instruments (what do we have, what should we have and how can they be managed)
    • Amplifiers will need to be upgraded

The committee members were asked to prepare written detailed accounts of the need they see for 2021 for the next meeting, including operating costs and estimates of unforseen costs (based on historical data) related to the infrastructure they are responsible for.

The need for engineer resources for the Department's infrastructure was discussed, and there is a board consensus that it is crucial to have this just in order to maintain the infrastructure that already exsists, and manage any new investments or upgrade of the infrastructure.
