Getting to Oslo

By Air

The main airport Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL) is located 45 km north of Oslo, and is the most frequently used gateway to Norway. There are direct flights to Oslo from all major European cities, as well as many overseas destinations. Getting from the airport

Airport Express train takes around 20 minutes to reach Oslo central station (Oslo S) and costs NOK 190. The regional Vy trains also travel from the airport to the central station in about 25 minutes, and cost NOK 105. They do not run as frequently as the Airport Express Train. There is also an Airport Express Coach, which takes appr. 45 minutes depending on traffic, and costs NOK 189 one way/ NOK 269 round trip.  

By train or bus

You can also travel to Oslo by train or bus. By train you will arrive at the Oslo Central Station which is right in the city centre. The web site of the Norwegian railway company, Vy, can be found here. Buses to Oslo arrive at the Oslo Bus Terminal, which is in the city centre, right next to the Oslo Central Station.

Getting to the University Campus is easy - just hop on the subway or the tram.

Options for local transportation in Oslo include buses, trams and the metro (T-bane). To plan your travel in Oslo, visit the web site of Ruter. Since you will be here for almost a week, it might be a good idea to buy a 7-day travel pass. You can buy tickets on a machine at the metro stations, or from any Narvesen, 7-Eleven or Deli de Luca kiosk. You'll want to buy a travel pass for zone 1, and do remember to activate it the first time you travel.

Getting to the University

MultiLing is located at the Department of Linguistics and Scandinavian Studies on the 4th floor of Henrik Wergelands hus. Public transport options are:

Tram number 17 or 18 towards "Rikshospitalet". Get off at Universitetet Blindern and walk 3 minutes to Henrik Wergelands hus.

or

The westbound metro, either line 4 to Vestli, line 5 to Sognsvann or line 5 Ringen via Majorstuen, and get off at Forskningsparken and walk 3 minutes to Henrik Wergelands hus.
