Guest Researcher: Tommaso M. Milani
Tommaso M. Milani is visiting MultiLing during the month of September.
Milani is an Associate Professor and Head of the Linguistics Department at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He is currently collaborating with Elizabeth Lanza (MultiLing), Robert Blackwood (University of Liverpool) and Hirut Woldemariam (Addis Ababa University) on an edited volume on identity and linguistic landscapes which will appear in the book series Advances in Sociolinguistics (Bloomsbury Publishing) of which Milani is Editor.
During his stay, Milani will be giving an open guest lecture and a workshop on publishing in academic journals. Together with Scott Burnett, who works for the South African NGO loveLife, Milani will also give a seminar on language ideologies and affect in South Africa.
