PhD project
Trajectories of cross-linguistic influence in the acquisition of Norwegian as a third language (Working title)
Description: This project is part of the CLIMA project (Cross-Linguistic Influence in Multilingual Acquisition) and it focuses on cross-linguistic influence (CLI) in the acquisition of Norwegian as a third language. Adopting a longitudinal design, I will investigate the acquisition of verb placement in non-subject initial declaratives and declaratives with mid-sentence adverbials using experimental methods that target different types of language competence. I will compare the developmental trajectories of two groups of adult learners with the same L2 (English) but different L1s, a V2 language (German) and a non-V2 language (French).
Supervisors: Guro Busterud (UiO), Anne Dahl (NTNU, CLIMA's p.i.), Natalia Kartushina (MultiLing/UiO)
